Syntheses

The evidence base on homelessness synthesized and documented in this website is sponsored by a partnership between Abt Associates and the National Alliance to End Homelessness. To learn more about the Center for Evidence-based Solutions to Homelessness, click here.

The expertise brought together at the Center for Evidence-based Solutions to Homelessness covers all of the major areas that comprise the field of homelessness, including  the diverse populations of people who experience homelessness—from military veterans and people with chronic patterns of homelessness to families with children and unaccompanied youth—and the policies and programs that are intended to serve these different groups.

The information presented here represents syntheses of the evidence on ten topics: Children and Family Homelessness, Chronic Homelessness, Criminal Justice Reentry and Homelessness, Homelessness Prevention, Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Re-Housing, Rental Housing Subsidies and Homelessness, Trends and Patterns of Homelessness, Veteran Homelessness, and Youth Homelessness. Other topics will be covered as the Center’s experts complete work on them. It is our intention to update all of the material periodically as new research is completed and results are published.
